PREREQUISITE: Confined Space Awareness Level
DESCRIPTION: This operations-level course is intended for emergency response personnel who might be required to respond to an incident involving a confined space and perform entry and rescue operations. This course incorporates both lecture and practical skills, with additional time devoted to skills involving patient packaging, rigging and retrieval systems, self-contained breathing apparatus, supplied air breathing apparatus systems, and hardwire communications systems. This class involves primarily “hand-on” training. This course is intended to provide “Operations Level" training as outlined in NFPA 1006 (Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications and provides agency response capability equivalent to the Operations Level" as outlined in NPFA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents).
