Prerequisite:  Swiftwater Rescue - Operations Level and NJ Boat Operators License / Boater Safety Certificate
PPE:  PFD, Helmet, and Appropriate Water Rescue Thermal Protection for Conditions
 **Any agency with two or more students registered for class will be required to supply an agency watercraft for use during practical exercises**

DESCRIPTION: This program will cover the job performance requirements for water rescue boat operators as outlined in NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications (2021 Ed.) Chapter 22. The program will involve both classroom instruction as well as “hands-on” activities to prepare boat operators for operation in both calm and moving water environments.   This program will focus primarily on inflatable and conventional hull boats commonly used in this area.  Students are expected to have a valid NJ Boat Operator endorsement on their Driver’s License prior to the start of class.
