Prerequisite: Age 18 and possession of valid driver’s license and member of Police, Fire or EMS Agency

Description: This eight hour course will help better prepare the operators of UTV’s or utility task vehicles (Gators, Rangers, Mules, ASAP’s, etc.) used by the emergency services for EMS, off-road rescue and firefighting tasks. The course will involve a short classroom presentation about the safe operation of these vehicles, followed by both on-road and challenging off-road practical driving courses. ***Departments with two or more students attending the class will be required to provide a UTV for operation by their own personnel.*** Driving courses will be conducted on county property and not on public roads.

Required PPE: Helmet, safety glasses, work gloves, and weather-appropriate clothing
