Prerequisites: Structural Collapse Rescue Operations Level, Heavy Lifting & Moving, Cutting Torches for Rescue Operations (or proof of equivalent training acceptable to lead instructor)

This course will introduce the students to tools and techniques necessary to cut and break through reinforced concrete, as might be encountered after the collapse of pre-cast concrete or heavy wall/floor buildings. A short classroom session will be followed by two days of intense practical exercises that will involve breaching through slaps in both vertical and horizontal positions. “Dirty Breaches”, “stitch drilling” and “clean lift-outs” will all be covered with plenty of hands-on-time. This course is intended to provide “Technician-Level” training in structural collapse rescue as outlined in NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents).
