This awareness-level program will introduce emergency response personnel to the basics of water rescue.  Topics covered will include:  Hazards associated with water rescue operations;  Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);  The dynamics of moving water;  Hypothermia – causes, prevention and field treatment;  Witness interview basics;  Review of basic water rescue operations;  Basic line systems.  This class forms the foundation for more advanced water rescue training programs.
