This program is intended for any emergency response personnel who may respond to motor vehicle crashes. The program identifies the many hazards often present at crash sites and explains how to recognize these hazards to protect both the rescuer and the patient. This entry-level program, based upon the requirements of NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents), will provide the student with a basic understanding of vehicle rescue theory and principals. The student will also receive an overview of supplemental restraint systems (SRS) in today’s vehicles. This course also forms the required foundation for Operations and Technician-level training in vehicle rescue.
